Ask Peak

Private AI.
Right in the notch.

Ask Peak is a chat that runs on your Mac using Apple’s on-device model. Rewrite a sentence, summarize a note or ask a quick question, and nothing you type leaves your Mac.

What it does.

Rewrite and summarize

Paste a draft and ask for a friendlier version, or ask for a one-line summary of what you copied.

Quick answers

Percentages, short explanations, a first pass at an email. Handy when opening a browser tab would take longer than the question.

Private by design

The model runs on this Mac. Your questions aren’t sent to a server, and PeakPad doesn’t save your conversations.

Good to know.

  • Ask Peak needs macOS 26 or later on a Mac that supports Apple Intelligence. On older systems the Ask Peak tab simply isn’t shown.
  • Nothing is saved. Press New chat and the conversation is cleared.
  • It runs a smaller model than the big cloud chatbots, so it’s best for short, everyday tasks rather than long research.
  • There’s no account, no usage limit and no extra fee. It uses what your Mac already has.

Questions.

Does Ask Peak use the internet?

No. It uses Apple’s on-device model, so the text you type is processed on your Mac.

Which Macs can use it?

Macs that support Apple Intelligence and run macOS 26 or later. PeakPad itself runs on macOS 14.6 or later; only the Ask Peak tab needs the newer system.

Is my chat history stored?

No. PeakPad doesn’t keep your conversations. New chat clears the current one.
